SAN ANTONIO -- A fire at a North Side apartment complex has left at least 26 people homeless.
The fire broke out around 3:45 p.m. at the
Churchill Park Apartment Homes at 1200 Patricia Drive. News 4 WOAI was told the fire started on the first floor and quickly spread to the second floor.
At one point, 100 firefighters were helping fight the flames. The fire was put out by 6:30 p.m., but fire crews remained at the scene to work on any hotspots that could cause the fire to reignite.
No injuries were reported. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire. Several tenants at the complex told News 4 WOAI they believe the fire might have been purposely set by a man whose girlfriend had just told him to move out.
