MEXICO CITY (AP) - A U.S. State Department official in Mexico says an American was found among the 193 corpses recovered in April in mass graves near the U.S. border.

The official says Mexican authorities identified the remains of a U.S. citizen in the graves of San Fernando, a town 85 miles (137 kilometers) from the border at Brownsville, Texas, and alerted the State Department.

The official, who spoke Tuesday, declined to be named because he was not authorized to speak on the record.

He did not identify the victim because the family has not authorized it.

Mexican officials said many of the victims in the graves were migrants heading to the U.S. who were kidnapped off buses by the Zetas drug cartel, killed and buried.

I agree with the posters: If we can go all the way across the Atlantic to intervene, why not right on our border? The abuses done by the Taliban in Afghanistan and the Baath party in Iraq were like kids bullying compared to what is going on in Mexico, right across the border. Dubya touted the advantages of a "pre-emptive" attack on the troubled Iraq, and seemingly everyone agreed with that, so...why don't we prepare another "pre-emptive", not against Mexico's rulers, but Mexican organized crime only. If you want to really get disgusted and horrified, read the piece today in mysa.com about a Zeta operative's interview. Scary. We need to act fast.

I agree with Cami! Let's bring our military home and send them into Mexico to snuff out the drug cartels! And I believe that the citizens of Mexico would welcome us with open arms.

TY Camidawg ~ NEVER could I have put it any better. We Americans have absolutely NO support from the pitiful government to whom we pay taxes out our a$$ ~ and they PLAY with it ~ FRUSTRATION NO END. Think about it ~ BEFORE we get our measly paychecks, the government whacks it in the butt ~ and we get leftovers to TRY to live on. Look what we get for it. IDIOTS in the White House, State AND in LOCAL GOVERNMENT. The damned government has grown larger than the MASS of whom they are SUPPOSED to be supporting and making a better life for. 2012 is ON THE WAY..BOOT'EM ~ A L L OF THEM AT ALL LEVELS.

I wish Stallone had made a Rambo movie about going to war with the Mexican drug cartels, that would be some quality entertainment to see them getting blown to smithereens!!

One of the top rules of the cartels is to NEVER kill Americans b/c it brings too much heat. Well, here it is. I think this is the perfect opp to take this bs by the cajones and have a nice local war with Mexican cartels. It would be alot more fun than that snoozer going on overseas. When is this country gonna really grow a pair and start using the mighty force of resources we pay for and read about in news articles. If this victim goes without retribution, then that gives cartels the green light to do whatever, whenever to Americans. Disgusting.
