ALAMO HEIGHTS, Texas -- An Alamo Heights Water System well has tested positive for E. coli.

The well, which is located at E. Fairoaks and Vanderhoeven Drive, was immediately removed from service.

Alamo Heights Water System officials said a boil water notice HAS NOT been issued, and residents do not need to treat their water prior to
consumption.

Crews have done further testing, and additional samples collected did not reflect the presence of E. coli bacteria.

The City plans to continue to investigate the possible source of the bacteria from the first test and will follow guidelines to treat the well.
