SAN ANTONIO - A boost to the local economy is expected thanks to all those fans that attended the Valero Alamo Bowl.
The 20th annual bowl attracted visitors from Oregon State, as well as UT alumni from all over, and other football fans enjoying their holiday vacation time.
Hispanic Chamber President and CEO, Ramiro Cavazos said it's this type of crowd that is making a substantial contribution to our economy.
“They stay three days, these are high income earners and they get a chance to travel for the holidays and they spend close to $800 to $1,000 a day,” explained Cavazos.
Last year's Alamo Bowl generated $39-million in the total economic impact. This year city leaders are hoping for the same results.
