SAN ANTONIO -- It's the only abandoned house on the street, but more people come and go from it than all of the other homes.

Neighbors say the empty house on McLeod has become a drug den.

News 4 WOAI's Jacqueline Ortiz spent the day out in the West Side neighborhood talking to homeowners who are working with police for solutions. CLICK HERE to watch the story.

A "drug den"? Guess I'll go back to my bachelor pad and spin some neato tunes on my new stereo console while wearing my cool new dickie. :)

What is really amazing is that houses like this one, all over the city, and I assume all over the States and the world, are referred to as "known drug houses". They are known not only by the neighbors, but by the police and other "authorities". What?!!! They know where the drugs are distributed to our kids? Fhat the Wuck? No wonder the drug cartels down South are making billions of dollars. We have official and government-tolerated "known drug houses" around the neighborhoods, and we are not talking about farmacies.

that house isn't the only problem around here. the corner of Hamilton and Poplar is often populated with numerous individuals just standing around on the NW corner. no police around...there is nothing there...just a week filled corner. we have called the safe officer for this area for years to report a neighbor who sells drugs and stolen property to no avail. everyone in this area has valuables chained up beginning with our gates. we cannot invite friends over for dinner as we dont' want them driving around here at night. seems like just a big publicity stunt.
