SAN ANTONIO -- An intruder beat an elderly couple and took their car after forcing his way inside their home Thursday morning.

The attack happened around 5:30 a.m. at a house in the 6800 block of Calle Aleman on the Far West Side. News 4 WOAI was told a Hispanic male between 19 and 21 years of age showed up at the house and got into a struggle with a 19-year-old woman who lives there. Deputies said the man used the teen to force his way inside the house, woke everyone up, and demanded money.

According to investigators, the man attacked the woman's parents, who are in their late 60's. The father, suffered injuries to his face. The mother, who tried to fend off the man with a cane, suffered injuries to her head. Both were taken to a Downtown hospital.

Deputies said the man took about $30 in cash from the family and then left in the parent's 2013 vehicle with paper plates, taking the 19-year-old woman with him. Investigators have not called the incident a kidnapping, and it's unclear if the man forced the woman to go with him or she left with him voluntarily.

Gnaeus: "SA is a great place to live" because he now that he is mayor, he never takes time, neiher does he care how the poor and/or elderly folk live. Neither did he mention that watch dogs. active cameras, loaded guns are part of a beautiful SA household.

Let's add to the list. Along with a gun and a BIG dog add an alarm on your cars and home and active cameras. My dogs aren't that big but they sure don't miss anything going on outside and they make a racket until somebody comes to see what's going on. I have live cameras taping continually and my gun is also loaded inside the house (I have qualified expert on many). Come on punk, make my day!

djuarez65 - perhaps you should buy a gun. And a dog.

I own the property across the street from them and crime has really gotten worse. Just last year I had 3 vintage vehicles stolen from my property and nobody saw anything. These punks know that the Bexar County Sheriff's patrol are seldom seen in the area and will continue with the crime spree.
