SAN ANTONIO -- Police are crediting a good Samaritan for being in the right place at the right time to stop a crime in progress.
Investigators say thieves tried prying open a panel on an ATM at the Firstmark Credit Union near Loop 1604 and Gold Canyon on the North Side. A witness spotted them just before 3:00 a.m. Wednesday.
Police suspect the thieves got spooked and drove off after the witness noticed what they were doing.
