SAN ANTONIO -- Bexar County voters continue to flock to the polls. More than 119,000 ballots have been cast since Monday.
Poll workers say they enjoy overhearing the lively debates as people wait to cast their ballots. We caught up with one who says she wouldn't miss the excitement even for a European vacation. That's right. A few years ago, Velia Salinas skipped out on a trip just to work in the precincts.
"I'm 87 years old," Velia told us. "And, no, I've never missed an election, working an election, no, or voting."
Velia says the first presidential election she voted in was 1948, when Harry Truman won.
"The first election was curtains and paperwork," recalled Velia. "The precincts - you filed in a filing cabinet by the precinct number. And when they voted, you had to bring out their ballot."
