SAN MARCOS, Texas -- A 75-year-old man died after his motor scooter was hit by an SUV Wednesday afternoon.
Charles O'Dell was driving east on Hopkins behind another vehicle around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, when the driver of a Dodge Durango traveling in the westbound lane attempted to turn left onto North Street and hit O'Dell's scooter. O'Dell was knocked off the cycle. He was taken to Central Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The driver of the Dodge Durango was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
