SOMERSET, Texas -- A 6-year-old boy was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in South Bexar County.

The accident happened around 7:00 a.m. Tuesday in the 20,700 block of Highway 16, near Somerset. Officers said a school bus stopped to pick up some children and a red Audi stopped behind it while the children were boarding the bus. A Chevrolet HHR then slammed into the back of the Audi.

The 6-year-old boy, who was in the backseat of the Audi, was found on the floorboard, between the front and backseats. He was taken to University Hospital by AirLife. His 7-year-old brother was in the front passenger seat and was not injured. Their 51-year-old father, who was driving the Audi, and the 69-year-old woman who was driving the HHR were taken to University Hospital by ambulance.

No one on the school bus was injured.
