SAN ANTONIO- It's been one year since a local business owner was found dead inside his mobile home on the Northeast Side and his killer is still on the loose.
Now the family of 68-year-old Jerry Collins along with Crimestoppers is offering a combined reward of $40,000 to help find his murderer.
It was Saturday morning, January 28th of last year when Jerry was discovered dead inside his mobile home at Circle B Mobile Home Park. His throat was slit and a bloody knife was found next to him.
The victim's family never imagined a year after the murder the killer would still be out there.
“I thought they'd have an arrest within a week or so at least,” explained Jim Collins, the victim’s son.
“But they're still out there in our community,” said Melissa Collins, another family member. “And that's what's scary”.
Anyone with information on Jerry Collin's murder is asked to call Crimestoppers at 224-stop.
