SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio Metropolitan Health officials are reporting a 19th case of West Nile Virus in Bexar County.

Metro Health made the announcement via Twitter Monday morning.

The 18th case was confirmed on September 13th. That case involved a 39-year-old man who is a cardiologist for the Air Force. Officials say he contracted the milder form of the virus and was treated at San Antonio Military Medical Center on an outpatient basis.

With lower temperatures, health officials expect West Nile cases to recede soon.

The temps are not nearly low enough to kill mosquitoes yet and all of this rain we got will provide new breeding grounds. If anything, I bet the number of cases go up in these next few weeks before they go down for the winter... we will see.
