SAN ANTONIO- There was a major accident involving an 18-wheeler Sunday evening.

We were told that an 18-wheeler lost control heading southbound on I-35 and loop 410 on the Northeast Side. There was also a jeep involved in the wreck. The 18-wheeler overturned, and police spent several hours clearing up the mess. The scene was cleared sometime after 3 Monday morning.

I'm not sure where you heard that most trucks can't go over 62mph. As much as I've driven on interstates, most trucks are going at, near, or over the speed limit. If most trucks couldn't go over 62, then we'd be passing them like they're sitting still when the speed limit is 70 - when in fact the trucks are keeping up with us cars, or even passing us! On another note, I was driving on 35 from Austin to SA, and a small SUV got behind me that was riding less than 2 feet from my bumper. I was in a line of cars, and we were all going about 75-80mph. The line slowed down, so I had to slow down, praying that he wouldn't run into me. It was close. He almost hit me, but managed to catch an opening in the next lane. Of course he thought it was all my fault and he flipped me off as he passed me. He then weaved in and out of traffic, nearly rear-ending people and severely cutting them off. He made it to the right lane, then moved left to pass somebody, then cut them off to make the exit forcing the other vehicle to swerve out of his way! He was in so much of a hurry that he couldn't wait an extra second to get to the exit!

Trucks speeding? Most if not all Trucks can not go past 62mph they are governed at that speed>, It is usually a four wheeler or as you would say a car causes most problems that cause accidents . Truck drivers are trained to drive, car drivers are either to young to be on the road or to dumb to have a lic.

And when the speed limit says "70" people are driving 80--trucks AND cars. Driving lessons and the test used to include calculating the required stopping distance. Since people travel on others' bumpers at 70-80 MPH they have NO clue they'll be in that forward cars front seat before they even hit the brake pedal and a truck will be on top of the car! Best movie we ever saw in driver's ed was "Blood Alley" and it should still be required viewing. Our city places a car in front of the schools for a week each year to remind them of what driving distracted can do. With a small school that's lost several students to driving deaths this tends to get their attention if only for a short while. Hopefully it has saved lives that we don't know about.

These 18 wheeler need their own roads to travel so when they do have an accident they only hurt therselves, their trucks and no one else. They also need to slow down when they drive. They are always speeding "70" when the speed says "60". I stay out of their way. To avoid an accident.
