SAN ANTONIO -- A crash involving an 18-wheeler created a traffic tie up on the West Side.
The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Loop 410 and Highway 90. Officials said the big rig carrying steel beams was exiting Loop 410 West onto Highway 90 East when the load shifted and the truck overturned.
HazMat crews were called to the scene to drill a hole in the fuel tank and drain the truck's fuel, so a crane can lift the truck off the highway. The cloverleaf ramp from Loop 410 West to Highway 90 East remained shut down until crews could complete the work.
