SAN ANTONIO -- An 18-wheeler crashed and burst into flames on the South Side Tuesday.

Crews were called to the eastbound lanes of Southeast Loop 410 and Interstate 37 South around 11:00 a.m. Police said the driver was traveling on Interstate 37 and had exited onto the bridge when he lost control on the slick streets and hit a guardrail. The guardrail ruptured one of the truck's fuel tanks, causing the truck to catch fire.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Crews from the Texas Department of Public Safety were called to check the bridge for any structural damage the fire may have caused.

This is not news. Drivers of 18 whellers are maniacs. Weather has nothing to do with it. Just take a trip down where the Eagle Ford Shale drilling is taking place and you'll witness some dozzies.
