There's too many 15 and 16 year olds getting treated like they're babies by unwitting parents of their friends, not knowing a lot of teens are selling drugs, stealing, committing crimes, just blowing it off. There has to be tougher punishments when it comes to the smaller stuff like drug dealing in public schools starting in middle schools, before the usual pattern of escalation kicks in and they commit more heinous crimes like this kind of thing. Public schools are full of criminals and just because they're 16 or 14 doesn't mean they should just get away with things until they're 18 or commit murder.

I'm getting tired of hearing about things like this. Is it because Susan Reed is getting soft? Is it because there was no Pre-K for SA? Did the gun do it and the kids just happen to be the one holding it at the time? Maybe they are just mis-understood. Fry them all. I'll ponder the reason after they are pushing up grass from six feet under. If you take someone's life, your's should be forfeited. Get the court system moving again. There is no deterent if it takes years to put an animal down for his crimes.

Gecko - you did say that with your tongue in your cheek, right? PreK doesn't prevent anything, much less murder.

Now if only this teenager would have been given a free pre-k education this would have never occurred.

Do forget to arrest the parents as they are the real problem behind these children's behavior. I can remember when living around UTSA and going to school there was a wonderful experience. However, it appears that the area has become as crappy and dangerous as the rest of San Antonio. Do something about this Mayor Castro, instead of using the mayor's office to further your own career!!

Heck yes charge his behind as an adult...and the same should go for his equally brilliant and upstanding friends. You want to act like a "big man" and engage in that lifestyle then you can face the same consequences as a "big man."

That POS punk will probably serve very little time. He will get plead out to a lesser offense and will be out in a couple of years. He deserves the death penalty and nothing less. I find it truly amazing how people out there always have to throw in the race card into such a tragedy. Criminals have to be eradicated no matter what color they are.
