MCKINNEY, Texas (AP) - The arrival of 12-12-12 is sparking some sparking and a rush to the justice of the peace for exchanges of wedding vows.
One North Texas justice of the peace, Paul Raleeh of Collin County Precinct 1, has cleared his entire docket for the day to make way for the brides and grooms.
Tim Wyatt is a spokesman for the county, where some of the fastest-growing northern suburbs of Dallas are situated. In a statement, he says Raleeh has been overwhelmed with a wave of requests to preside over weddings.
Raleeh usually marries four to five couples a week. For Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, Wyatt says Raleeh has 30 scheduled for that day alone.
