SAN ANTONIO -- At least 11 people were injured Wednesday afternoon when three escalators came to an abrupt stop at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, facility officials said.
The victims, who were attending a Game Stop convention lost their balance, tumbled down the stairs.
Seven of them were hospitalized but they all were expected to be OK.
Officials said the injured were between the ages of 28 and 40; none were from Texas.
An investigation was underway Wednesday to try to determine why the escalators malfunctioned.
