10th West Nile virus case confirmed in Bexar County

I wonder if furries can get this disease. I know birds get it, but my dog hasn't been herself for several weeks. She don't eat and doesn't wag her tail when I get home, but I don't want to put her down if she just getting old. She eat okay, but it ain't right how she hobbles around. Sort of slow with a limp along, like when the big dodo isn't willing to peek out of the orifice. A long time ago my great-grandfather told me a story about this sort of thing, why feathers are designed to catch the sins of the wind, but I am going on too long for it now.

Oh and another victim of the mosquitos are our animals, cats and dogs, that get heartworm from the mosquito bite. All three of my dogs are on preventative but it's not really cheap but the alternate is a painful death and the loss of a pet. Talula you seem all fired up about the humans but you need to think about others besides yourself.

Talula - I know for a fact that the "poison" you talk about specifically targets the mosquito. I have never seen harm to any other insect or bird that died or got sick from it and as I said Corpus Christi did it often and that was way, way back in time and I'm sure it has been tweeked many times since then. You, my friend, are yelling wolf. But, of course, there is always someone that just loves to have something to gripe about.

PS, and no doubt, that Poison fogger will kill off More than the mosquitoes, including the natural balance of Insects, Etc which eat the mosquitoes.. Where are the obfuscating greenies when you need them.. Nevermind..They Say, Their Poison Spray is not harmful :p

Yeah, I'm so Afraid of them mosquitoes, just like I am terrified of the so called flu.. Of course, most of the "victims", may they RIP, were very old, sickly, and/or weak, already. Someone is just Itching to spray that Poison on Us, Too! and ,no doubt, Corporate, Etc, Profits are Involved..

I agree with cosmo511..we should be getting fogged. How many more people are going to contact this disease and die before the local government wakes up? Sure, they fog certain areas, but if the mosquitoes are found there, they are certainly in other areas not tested. Come on, fog already!

I want to see one of those signs in my neighborhood! Corpus Christi fogged every year after heavy rains. Those mosquitoes were the size of rats so we were always pleased to get the fog.

When is San Antonio going to get fogged like Dallas did. According to reports, they reduced their mosquito problems by 90%.
