ALBUQUERQUE (NBC News Channel) -- An Albuquerque, New Mexico woman has something for sale on eBay that most of wouldn't even consider selling at any price. It's her soul.

Bids start at $2,000 for the soul of Lori N., and so far nobody has made one. Still, there have been a lot of hits and that's encouraging to Lori. She was a passenger in a car struck by a drunk driver in 2007. Lori was in a coma for three weeks, and woke up suffering from a stroke, a broken hip, broken pelvis, leg, collarbone, sternum, ribs, a collapsed lung. On top of all that she lost a breast.

Lori was a freelance writer who cannot write much any more. She gets by on part-time inventory work and makes jewelry. Lori figured since her body is pretty much shot, why not market her soul?

"What I'm gonna deliver is the opportunity for someone to save my soul," Lori said. "They can save it through prayer, they can save it through conversion. They're also gonna get a certificate detailing the white and black marks on my soul."

Sort of a spiritual Carfax - the good along with the bad. Lori admitted that her eBay ad is a cry for help.

"I guess you could say that. I'm at the point now, I'm tired. I don't feel good. I'm near the end of my rope. I really am."

Lori said she realizes her ad may offend some people's religious beliefs, but she said she is really hoping just to make contact - maybe with somebody else's soul.

Toeveryone here who is putting this woman down, and saying she does not own her soul, so can't sell it: Did you read the story? She has lost everything, including her ability to make a living. She is just trying to get some help. I can't believe one of the many philanthropists out there has not tried to help Lori out. Maybe one of you so called Christians could live by your own words, and give your fellow human beingsome compassion.

Secret brigands make contrary plans; it will not be advantageous for future generations.

There seems to be considerable confusion here. I will attempt to make muddy water clear. Firts of all, I would agree with the comment below that Catholics are not Christian. Christians are forbidden to worship idols and images of other Gods or even of God and Jesus. Catholics are idol worshippers and theie Roman ancestors killed Jesus. They celebrate the event to this day with statues of Jesus in agony on the cross. Also, even if this woman wanted to sell her soul, she can't. Having a soul is more like a lease than outright ownership. It is the soul that goes on to Heaven or Hell and the destination is decided by God alone. As to buying a soul: that would be pointless. It will not get you to Heaven and buying one will get you sent to Hell. I think this is all just a publicity stunt and this woman just wants something for free. She will have to explain herself to the Lord one day and I'd hate to be in her shoes.

A "true" christian doesn't go around judging the trueness of another christian, because a "true" christian knows that judging others and gossiping are sins. Therefore, sraspurs20 is not a "true" christian either.

This woman must not be a true christian. A Catholic! you can't sell your soul. Either God gets it or the devil! Hope she is a Catholic. Other wise the devil gets her soul.

Hmmm...that lady who lost her daughter and 4 grand children to a senseless drunk driving accident was praying for the 4th child before that child died too. Pretty sure prayer isn't the answer here. Clearly it is not effective.

You have to admire her. She is in poor health and still works part-time and uses her skills to make jewelry. How many lowlifes are in perfect health and collect a welfare check?

markymark, my son-in-law (a felon) lost his job last week. he starts a new one monday. its not what he wants but it will pay the bills. if you can't find work in this area right now your either a royal screw-up or your not trying very hard.

At least she has a part-time job, as a freelance writer. I can't even get that. Consider yourself lucky.

Lori N, first of all you can't sell something that you no longer have because you are empty and lost. Secondly, you and I both know who IS in the business of stealing, buying and taking souls. I laughed when I first read this story,I'm still giggling a little bit, but seriously you need to call on Jesus.
