SAN ANTONIO -- A woman was rescued after she became trapped inside her SUV in high water on the East Side Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to IH-35 & Salado Creek just before 5:00 p.m.  They were able to get the woman out of the stranded SUV and pull her to safety.

Investigators did confirm there were no barriers warning drivers to turn around. However, they said the flood gauge on the side of the road did read 4 1/2 feet when the woman became trapped.
