Woman released from prison after accuser recants sex assault accusations

One of our neighbors asked my son, 15 at the time, if he would baby-sit their three children, two girls and a little boy. They only lived two doors away from us - and I would be at home the entire time as "back-up", just in case something came up that my son needed some help with. My son wanted to earn some extra money. I said yes, we will try it, ONE TIME. My son called me at home and said that at 7:00 p.m., he was instructed to give the kids their baths and help them put on their clean pajamas and tuck them in bed. I said, "I'll be right there." I DID NOT LIKE the idea of my 15-year-old boy alone in a bathroom with two little girls! He was supposed to give the girls their baths together, and then a bath for the little boy. The only instructions from the parents, were, "Do not leave the children alone in the bathroom." I told my son to wait for me in the den, while I give the children their baths and put them in clean jammies. We tucked them in at 8 p.m., and the parents were home right before 9:00 that night. They seemed sort of surprised to see me, but they paid my son, and as my son headed home, I told them that I didn't think it was going to work out. They were disappointed, and I said I would help them out until they could get someone else. PARENTS!!! It's not just the predators that you have to protect your child - you have to ENSURE, AS BEST YOU CAN, that you protect your child from FALSE ACCUSATIONS. The scenario I just described for you is a PRIME EXAMPLE of how young people are put at-risk to be accused of something they didn't even DO!! My son was never accused - because I made sure, as best that I could, that he was never placed in a situation where he could be accused. YOU are the parent!! YOU have to be the one who looks ahead, and anticipates a worst-case scenario.

Anna, my prayers are with you young lady. It is good you want to work on the release of the others still in prison. You will be successful on anything you do Anna and you will find happiness.

This is another example of what I have said before: Prosecutors many times step over th line to gain their cases by whatever means needed, without any regard for the falsely accused people. Sadly, is always after the non-guilty person already spent a few years (or decades) in prison, among low-lifers who have been proven guilty of the most varied and often unspeakable crimes, that somehow someone comes forward with proofof their innocense. I know in the heart of my bottom that a few souls have been "legally" executed for no other reason than that of to better the career of an over-zealous yet immoral (or at least incompetent) prosecutor.

This story is so f'd up & sad! Sad sad sad! Yall need to this one ep of Lisa Ling's Our America she does a whole show on Travis Iosu another wrongly convicted person from Round Rock, TX. This is scary & sad, to think any of us could be accused & go to jail over some Selem witch hunt type crap, while real child molesters get slaps on the wrist like wtf!

Ms. Anna Vasquez I feel for you. It's very tragic that you were falsely convicted of a crime you did not commit. This is another example that the justice system can and does fail. Not only was your freedom taken away, but also your happiness, your life and perhaps your mental and emotional health. And perhaps you have been injured by the nightmare you were required to live as an inmate.

Wonder why a bonafide jury found her guilty? She should have appealed her case; lousy attorney! Twelve years is a long, long time. It took the so-called victim these many years to come forward and tell the real truth. Hope Miss Vasquez has started living her life to the fullest with her family. Even though she spent so much time locked up, she still has a lot of freedom to enjoy and thank the Lord that her accuser came forward and confessed the real truth. I spoke to a prison chaplain once, and he told me that he knew a lot of inmates were serving time for crimes they did not commit; were innocent.

"She was a friend of the girl's family." You have to be careful who you pick for friends. How evil. I hope if they are truly innocent, they get out already. Really though, with the amount of Registered Sex Offenders in our cities, I'm surprised they are serving such long sentences, so many of them are out on the streets.
