SAN ANTONIO- A woman is mourning her life-long friend and sweetheart after he was dragged by a car and killed late Saturday night.

Another woman who was driving the car is in police custody charged with murder.
It happened on the East side along the 300 block of Bellinger just down the street from where he lived.

Witnesses told police they saw the victim and the woman who was driving the car get into a verbal and physical fight. Witnesses then told police the woman got into the car and ran him down.

Now, the victim's girlfriend is speaking out.... Trying to understand why this happened.

“He left; he said he was going out. I said OK I'll see you later. I didn't get to see him later because when they came by the house they told me he was run over by a car.”

The victim's name has not been released pending next of kin. His girlfriend also chose to keep her identity private for now. But she said they were living together for the past year after knowing each other since they were five years old.

“We grew up together, we were friends, and we were sweethearts. We weren't able to get together because we had our own lives and everything, to make it short, but then there was an opportunity to be together.”

Their happiness was cut short when she got a knock at the door notifying her there had been an accident.

“And I know that the young lady that was with me said she's here, she's here, he turned his head twice. I didn't know that the injuries were so serious. He turned twice and looked at me.”

The victim was rushed to SAMMC where he died.

After speaking to witnesses, police arrested 30 -year old Jillian Johnson who officers said ran the victim over.

@dylan, she did not run over him because he was a good man. Something was amiss between these 2.

The Girlfriend said--“We grew up together, we were friends, and we were sweethearts. We weren't able to get together because we had our own lives and everything, to make it short, but then there was an opportunity to be together.” I say---No honey don't make it short..because that's where the real reason is..Not to excuse her awful actions..but some men need to stop f'ing around!!
