SAN ANTONIO -- As a parent, you'll do anything to keep your kids children, and protecting kids from a child predator is a top priority. A quick search online can show you where registered sex offenders live but now there's a new easy way to find out where they're working.
Family Watchdog maps out where registered sex offenders live and work, with a picture of the offender and information about the crime. News 4 showed parents at Lion's Park how the website works.
Jennifer Quintela and Julian Nealy discovered a registered sex offender living near their northwest side home works at a family-friendly restaurant not far away.
"I didn't even know that was available for us to have and for us parents, that's a very good tool to use," Quintela said.
Roseann Jones discovered one offender living near her home is self-employed and another man is working at a car dealership.
"I, unfortunately, was raped as a child. And being raped as a child, it wasn't like, 'ha ha ha, I'm coming to get you,' or nothing like that. They progressively start with you. They tell you they're your friend and build a respect and build a trust factor," Jones said. She said she is extremely protective of her children because of her past experiences.
