A police captain with the Northside School District is on administrative leave.

This after allegations surfaced that he covered up the accidental discharge of another officer's gun.

District spokesman Pascual Gonzalez tells News 4 WOAI the incident happened back in 2009 at police headquarters. No one was hurt, but it apparently was not reported by Captain Bradley Mills.

Mills was placed on leave late last month. The captain has worked for Northside for 20 years.

Earlier this summer, Northside ISD fired Officer Doug Schramm, a 16-year veteran of the district's police force. Schramm discharged his gun in his office at Jordan middle school.

No one was hurt in that incident either, but the district determined he violated policy.

garzar1..first off, what does your comment have to do with this article? Second, you're a credit to parenting. Yelling and using profanity towards a cop in the presence of your child. Way to go! You just won the Parent of the Year Award for setting a good example for your kid. And yes, judging from your behavior and language, you are definitely hispanic...just sayin.

Events like this skewer the crime statistics in this city. White crime is not reported by fellow whites. Then these same people like to comment everytime a crime is commited by a non-white. You all are just as bad or worse.

just this past week I drove my kid to brandeis for pratice and while entering the parking lot this bald headed cop yelled at me not to enter and I rolled down my window and told him who in the fu!! was he yelling at.He might be that racist pig? just sayin.. Im hispanic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let’s not forget that Mills is only one of many defective cogs in a machine that has been in need of a complete and total overhaul for some time. And the only way to fix the machine is to start replacing ALL the defective parts starting at the top. The only problem here is that YOUR illustrious school board keeps ignoring the problem which, if ignored long enough, will cause the machine to fail altogether. Brian Woods and the other over-paid adminstrators at central office need to wake up and open their eyes to this problem before their police department collapses.

Come on Sholmes, you must not know Brad personally because roadrunner1980 says "Brad is not a bad guy". roadrunner1980 must be one of his cronies. When are the Texas Rangers going to get involved and look into this. Oh wait, aren't the rangers cowboys too? Some of them may be members of the good ole' boys club too.

felontracker - you have it EXACTLY right - if no one saw it and the report doesn't exist or says "I didn't do it" then nothing happened. This is all over the district from the teacher that blindly accepts one kid's story over another to principals that don't report teachers who abuse their students to directors that cover it all up and publically lie and point fingers that the students and parents regardless of how ridiculous the staff member's explanation may be. Gonzalez just repeats the lies that he's told....that's his job.

Sholmes...couldn't agree more. After they get rid of Mills (if the district does) They need to "pull some other weeds" to include the likes of the chief, his fluffer lieutenant and a couple of sergeants. Then, maybe, this broken department can be fixed.

roadrunner1980...is obviously a Brad Mills supporter and I understand that. Everyone needs someone to support them, even though that person is a corrupt POS. So, tell us, what did Mills cover up for you so that you could keep your job?

No better yet, let's just have NISD do their norm good ole' boy routine and just let Mills ride off into the sunset by retiring with no further consequences. Cause well let's face it, Brad's a good ole' boy right roadrunner1980.
