I remember when I was at Coney Island as a child with my mother back in the 90's and I had to insert 4 quarters to use a porta-john.

It was clearly posted and she decided she didn't want to abide by the restaurant's rules so waa waa waa, poor put upon her. Suck it up lady and pay the $5. You were wrong, so look in the mirror and blame the person looking back at you instead of the restaurant.

The restaurant has every right to charge a fee of some sort. Involving the sheriff is extreme.

I read another article that said she was in the bathroom for 20 minutes. Bet that was nice for the next customer. Eat some fiber lady.

The management posted two signs stating the fact that it isn't a public restroom and that there is a $5.00 charge so she is in the wrong. This "news" outlet is also in the wrong for trying to make out like businesses ought to give away toilet paper, money, any thing any one wants. Total free for all, why not! Let's start going to News4 facilities and get freebies! How does that sound, journalists?

They have no obligation to make it available to the public. In New Orleans and in New York there are many many places where you can't use the facilities unless you buy something. These are from walk in deli to a fancy hotel. They would have numerous street people using their facilities for all sorts of things - bathing, sex, bathroom, etc!!

2 words for that restaurant and the folks that run it. But i wont post it here. They have a right to charge non paying customers, but they also have an obligation to make it available to the public. I hope all get the Sheets.
