SAN ANTONIO -- USAA unveiled plans to add as many as 3,500 new jobs over the next three years.

USAA says the hires are needed to keep pace with the company's current and projected membership growth.

The initial expansions will be in San Antonio and Phoenix. The positions will include member contact representatives in investments, insurance, banking and claims; underwriters; information security specialists; business and financial analysts; and modeling and statistical analysts.

The San Antonio expansion could bring as many as 1,000 new jobs by the end of 2015 to its headquarters community.

In conjunction with its expansion plans, USAA also reaffirmed its commitment that at least one of every four new hires be either a military veteran or spouse.

Okay people go out and get a job and get off food stamps and welfare. As a tax payer I am tired of supporting losers.

How about all those people from India? With the government cutting I would think layoffs are in the near future.

I would not work for that prison system, very unhealthy. Some military person came up with having everything under the sun like a military base except they forgot the sun. I'll rather be back at a Fire Base in Afghanistan than work there, veterans deserve better.

Well that's nice and all, but isn't this the same company that laid off people by the hundreds as well?
