The reality is this happens more often than you might think, and in most cases there is no coercion or implied threat of any action involved. When I was on active duty at Ft. Jackson I never allowed myself to be alone with any female recruit under any condition. There is a fine line an NCO walks when they allow themselves to become involved with a Trainee under any condition and it should not happen. NCO's are the backbone of the military and should not allow themselves to be put in this position under any circumstance. It discredits them, their unit, the military as a whole and brings question upon their integrity and professionalism. If they have allowed themselves to become intimately involved with a trainee they have lost their integrity for sexual gratification and deserve to be dishonorably discharged for their actions. As a supervisor you can never allow yourself to be compromised or otherwise appear to show favoritism because of a relationship, this is a primary reason why the Military does not assign married soldiers to the same unit and why Managers should never hire family to fill positions they supervise. It doesn't matter if the favoritism actually exist, the appearance is enough to destroy credibility.

Wow. Good catch, phog. More top notch editing from a crack(head) proofreader. How much do these interns get paid?? Oh, wait...nevermind.

Who proof reads these articles? Ssgt. Sergeant? It is SSgt. And now back to the story. Sad, that NCO's abuse their authority and either coerce the basic trainees or consent with their requests.
