Two men die after apartment gun battle

SAN ANTONIO - Two men are dead following a shooting at a Southwest Side apartment complex.

Police say a man showed up at the Champion Homes Apartments on West Military Drive near Five Palms Drive just before midnight. He reportedly got into a fight with a tenant. Both the tenant and visitors then pulled out guns and started shooting at each other.

The visitor died at the scene. The tenant was taken to University Hospital, but died later from several gunshot wounds throughout his body.

Police are investigating what led up to the shooting.

You would think people would have some respect and not post those ignorant comments! I also know one of the men killed he had kids and his wife he was defending. This story doesn't say the whole truth. A good man died died and both had families that loved them. You wouldnt want somebody saying that if it happend to one of your family members so show some respect or dont say anything at all

@floridafamily, I'm truly sorry for your loss. However, you have to understand that this is an open public forum for individuals to post their innermost feelings and comments. They will, occasionally, go against other individals posting or family members hoping to raise their voice in hope, respect, and defense of their loved one. I'm sorry for your loss, but at the same time, you've GOT to respect the emotions, feelings, and loss of the other. It's a no-win either way around the maypole.

It is a real sad world we live in when people who do not know anything about what happened feel the need to make uninformed comments about people not knowing if their family will read, I should say not caring if their family reads it. The VICTIM in this shootout was my cousin who was a great person and was trying to protect his family. Not a lowlife.
