San Antonio --  Another San Antonio police officer has been fired. This is the second officer to lose his job for misconduct in the span of a month.

Craig Nash was accused of raping a transgendered woman a few weeks ago while on duty. He was charged with sexual assault and put on leave with pay. But late Friday he was fired.

Since the beginning of this year there have been at least four major incidents involving San Antonio police officers. We uncovered at least two officers have been let go, including Craig Nash, and two others have been suspended.

Early Friday San Antonio police confirmed Officer Christopher Martinez was also relieved us his duties. Police sources tell News 4 WOAI Martinez was accused of sexual misconduct and using his status as an officer to influence people.

Just last week Sergeant Gabe Trevino was involved in an accident that left one person dead. He's on leave with pay pending an internal investigation.

Before that, Officer Dariel Johnson was accused of beating a man while on duty. He's also on paid administrative leave.

We did try to speak with Chief Bill McManus about these recent officer involved incidents. But he wasn't available.

He did send us this statement - "The department takes allegations of misconduct seriously. My position is clear. Misconduct will not be tolerated. When a member of this department is found to have engaged in this type of misconduct, swift and appropriate action will be taken."

What is gross, is that while relieved from duty, these miscreants still draw full pay and allowances for doing nothing. Don't depend on the DA doing anything, he needs the union support in her re-election effort.

The theft division is a joke. Do away with it and put the officers in burglary. Make them account for the miles on the cars. If they own a business on the side, make them declare it on paper. I wonder when one owns a jewelry store.

Why doesn't every officer get a drug test every month? How about twice a month? They aren't all bad, however there are so many bad ones, they taint the good ones, or intimadate them into silence. Every one that shoots somebody, wrecks a police car, beats up some one, shoud have a drug test on the spot, or within the hour. It will clear the good guys and show confidence in our police officers. How about it Union? Want to keep protecting the bad ones, or make the force into a true professional force they could be. You are holding back on good rules the Chief wants to enforce. This Union, puts good unions to shame. Union you should put the welfare of the entire force first, not the welfare of the bad officers. Yes I am pro union, but only the good unions.

These guys deserve this. Need to beef up internal affairs. Need to get the Lt's and Sgts into supervising. internal affairs need to go to work undercover, and catch the patrol officers getting comped, by the hookers. To much dead wood in the Lt's and Captains. Even the deputy Chiefs need to retire. The union needs to work towards making good officers, not protecting the bad ones.

Johnn Cash is right, NOBODY IS ABOVE THE LAW!! Anybody who knows Chief Bill McManus knows That McManus will not put up with this type of behavior! Bad Officers with this type of behavior should be kicked out on their ass. They make good Officers look bad!--Buddy Wells

Because of a few the whole department is tarnished?!?! Who do we call whenever we are in need? We all make mistakes. Some worse than others. We are all human and hope that the people we pay and depend on to serve and protect us do so when we need them.

A police officer's badge represents honor..dignity..valor and respect. To serve and protect. Some officers either do not get it, or forget what their service and mission stands for.
