SAN ANTONIO -- An arson team is now investigating the cause of a large grass fire on the East Side.
Firefighters were called to the J Street Park area, near Pecan Valley and G Street, around 1:00 p.m. Friday after smoke was spotted. At one point, fire department officials were worried the flames could spread to nearby homes. But firefighters were able to contain and put out the fire before it reached any structures.
Officials traced the source of the fire to a semi-trailer truck that had been parked in a wooded area. Investigators believe someone may have set the truck on fire, and the fire spread from there.
No injuries were reported.
