America's battle against obesity has reached the front lines.
That's according to a new report that says 25 percent of young Americans, potential recruits for the military, are simply too fat to fight. The "Mission Readiness" report claims these potential recruits are turned away because of their weight.
Hundreds of recruits also wind up being discharged early--reportedly because of weight-related issues. Commanders of all ranks who spear headed the study describe this problem as a potential threat to national security. They say some $60 million dollars are invested in these recruits, and in then finding their replacements.
