SAN ANTONIO - Onion rings are a delicious, deep-fried treat. But not every onion ring is created equal. Some say a good onion ring is lightly battered, others say the more deep-fried the better.

Onions are one of the most popular vegetables in the world. They are actually used in some cultures to help cure a number of diseases and also reducing the possibility of cancer and cardiovascular disease. They are also a source of Vitamin C and fiber.

Fat and skinny, cornmeal and breadcrumb, beer and tempura and on and on. We asked you to tell us who makes the best onion rings in San Antonio, and your top four nominees were:

Tell me about it Donoho me and my friends used to go there JUST for the o-rings ,great stuff back then. But that still leaves the ??? whos good now?

Oh, I’m with you, @Gramd14! I LOVE (not like) l-o-v-e Jim’s skinny, crisp onion rings. Don’t get me wrong…I like a good, fresh, well done beer-battered “fat” sweet onion ring as well, but for just roll-your-eyes-back-in-your head rings, it’s Jim’s…all of them.
