GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (AP) - Police are investigating a suburban Dallas traffic accident that killed three children and injured another child.
Grand Prairie police say a stalled car came to rest Sunday on the side of a freeway when it was struck from behind by a pickup.
The children were in the back seat and not wearing seat belts.
Twelve-year-old Maria del Refugio Gonzalez and 13-year-old Diana Gonzalez died at a hospital Sunday. Six-year-old Jesus Gonzalez died Monday at a hospital.
The fourth child, 10-year-old Maria de Jesus Gonzalez, remained hospitalized Tuesday. The driver of the truck was not injured.
Police say the children's mother was driving when the car stalled. Investigators say 31-year-old Maria Vasquez does not have a driver's license. She sustained minor injuries.
No charges have been filed in the case.
