SAN ANTONIO -- A local animal rescue group and a couple are having a dog fight. The Paws N Claws rescue group says the couple was fostering to adopt an American Bull Dog that once belonged to a soldier who was deployed overseas and could no longer care for the pet. The dog is now missing and the rescue has gone to police fearing the pet has gotten into the wrong hands.
Mandy Hall, Paws N Claws Founder, said, “We've gotten different stories that he was sold or he gave him away. The latest is he ran away and has no idea where he is at.”
The couple tells News 4 they did not sell the dog but that he ran away. On a Facebook page, "Bring Mac Home," thousands of people say they're searching and hoping the soldier's former pet is found.
Hall said, “We just want Mac back we have a cash reward with no questions asked.”
The couple says would never hurt the dog and if they had him they would give him back to the rescue group. Halls says they would just like to be able to tell the soldier and his family they found Mac back so if you see or know someone who might have the dog you can contact Paws N Claws at (210) 360-9933.
