SAN ANTONIO -- Police arrested a man they say tried to rob two West Side pharmacies and then led officers on a chase Thursday morning.

Investigators say 47-year-old Brian Terrill faces two counts of robbery and one count of evading police with a vehicle.

Police received a call about a robbery at a CVS Pharmacy at 2018 Culebra around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. A cashier at the store said a man walked in, put his hand behind his back as if he had a weapon, and then demanded money from the cash register. The cashier said she opened one register, but it was empty. She told officers when she was unable to open the second register, the man ran off.

Police then learned a man matching the description of the suspect had tried to rob a Walgreens at 1106 Culebra just minutes before the attempted robbery at CVS Pharmacy.

The employees at CVS Pharmacy were able to provide police information about the suspect, including a good description of his vehicle. A patrolman dispatched to the robberies spotted a vehicle matching the description provided and pulled behind it. The officer was about to signal the driver to pull over, when the driver sped off and led officers on a short chase. The driver, later identified as Terrill, eventually pulled over on Interstate 35 near Commerce Street and was taken into custody. No weapon was found

Investigators said Terrill was later positively identified by witnesses at both CVS Pharmacy and Walgreens.
