Looks like the two companies were looking for visible "leaks"; not taking in cosideration that the softener flows into the sewer line directly.

I had a similar problem, but it was my water heater. Good thing I found it within two days. I asked CPS to discount my bill with a copy of my replacement heater receipt--FAIL.

It is normal for the wicked in Converse to try to drive off the righteous that may appear in their midst.

Phrilly, OOOPS it did say that. But regardless your bill is going up each month, don't u start trying to find out what's causing it?

GoGo1971 - You didn't read the story. It states he had two companies come look at his softener and neither found anything wrong with it.

If my water bill was going up each month, I'd be checking ALL my pipes. It's Allen's fault if the water softner malfunctioned. It's like your toilet bowl constantly running and never shutting off.

No, there is no bonus money for the staff. They are not even getting raises for the next few years. This city manager only does what is in the best interest of getting and saving money. You should see the health insurance she picked for the city employees. We cannot afford medications with this plan. What a joke. I am sorry this guy is stuck with this. Good luck! Get a lawyer, it maybe the only way the city manager will be forced to deal with this issue.

At least once a month, I check my meter to make sure there is zero motion in the meter with the water off. If the register isn't moving, you know for sure you're not leaking water. It takes only about a minute to do this and is not beyond the abilities of even the most modestly competent homeowner.
