SAN ANTONIO - A police standoff ended when officers entered the home and found no one inside.

Officers were called out to a home on Shady Springs on the Northwest Side around 9:30 Thursday night for a possible assault. When they got there they believed a man was in the home, armed and holding a woman against her will.

News 4 WOAI was there all night as officers attempted to talk to the man. Then around 2:30 a.m. SWAT busted down the door and only found a rifle inside.

“As of right now the investigators are talking to everyone that was in the home. If any charges come of this, it will be a family violence assault from what I can gather. But as of right now we're still investigating,” explained Sgt. Chris Benavides from the San Antonio Police Department.

Police tell us the information they had led them to believe the couple was always inside the home, but shortly after officers entered, the man and woman showed up.
