SAN ANTONIO – A family is found dead after an apparent double-murder suicide at a home in the historic Monte Vista neighborhood. San Antonio police say a man fatally shot his wife and his son, and then turned the gun on himself.
Investigators tell News 4 WOAI it happened just after 9 a.m. Saturday inside the couple’s home on the 200 block of Summit, just North of Downtown.
“All three were in the kitchen apparently having breakfast and for whatever reason the husband, the father, killed both the wife and son and then himself,” said Police Chief William McManus.
The man apparently called 911 after he shot and killed his wife and son. Chief McManus told News 4 WOAI the man told the 911 dispatcher there had been two murders and there was about to be a suicide.
Investigators say the man and his wife were in their late seventies or early eighties and their son was in his late fifties.
News 4 WOAI has learned the names of the people involved, but we will not release those names yet. We want to respect the fact that their next of kin has not been notified.
