SAN ANTONIO- Three people armed with a baseball bat and a gun barged into a food mart and attacked a customer. This happened Saturday night around 8:30 at Pennies Food Mart along the 2500 block of Steves Street on the Southeast side.

Police said three Hispanic men wearing nylons over their heads walked into the store waving a gun. They demanded cash and cigarettes. Police said one of the suspects swung a bat and hit a customer over the head with a gun. Another customer and two male employees were inside the store, but they were not injured. The man who was struck was bleeding and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Shortly after the assault, officers said the suspects took off in a silver four door Toyota Tundra truck. It’s not known if any money was taken.

Could this incident be related to the two Sunday morning incidents (robberies involving a gun and a Toyota pick-up truck) as reported on K S A T (http://www.ksat.com/news/4-suspects-arrested-in-morning-crime-spree-high-speed-chase/-/478452/19352040/-/jyx2mw/-/index.html).
