SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio police officer is recovering after being knocked unconscious for a short time early Saturday morning.

Police tell us the officer was assisting in an arrest after a short car chase near the intersection of Drake and Nogalitos just South of Downtown.

It was just after 3:00A.M when police tell us a suspect involved in the chase jumped out of his vehicle and tried to flee the scene.  That’s when police say the officer tried to jump in and bring the vehicle to a stop.
