News 4 reporter David Cruz resigned Friday following a drunk driving arrest.
Cruz was driving on I-10 near Loop 410 around 1 a.m. Friday morning when police say he cut off and nearly hit an officer. Police said he failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a breathalyzer test.
Late Friday, Cruz issued the following statement:
"I wish to apologize to the viewers of San Antonio for my poor judgment, which led to this incident of which I am personally ashamed and will not try to defend. I have decided to resign my position at WOAI effective immediately."
