SAN ANTONIO - When a fire destroyed a 100-year-old church on the East Side earlier this month, church members hope was nearly lost. But then something you could call miraculous happened Thursday morning while crews were clearing the rubble left from Childress Memorial Church.

Workers clearing the area with a bulldozer found a mysterious, sealed metal box. The box fell out of a cornerstone lifted by the bulldozer from a huge pile of burned debris.

"There's a carved out portion of the cornerstone, and inside that portion there was a metal box. The container is totally sealed as if somebody welded it shut," explained Church Administrator Daniel Watford.

That box, which could be a time capsule, is now in the hands of the church pastor. He says the cornerstone was made for the church before Childress Memorial Church over a century ago, and nobody knew there was a secret box left inside of it until now.

News 4 San Antonio is waiting to hear from the church pastor to find out when they plan to open the box.

Fnord. This is the mark of the Free Masons, that first claimed the land of Texas for a temple designed to be a land mark for the prophecy to come of those that can spell.

Not so mysterious as cornerstones were used for this purpose at one time. however, ruble is a Russian monetary unit. I think they found this box in the 'rubble'.
