SAN ANTONIO - Residents at a Southeast Side apartment complex where a mother and daughter were stabbed early Tuesday morning say they live in fear because of all the violence.
Police are still searching for the three young women they believe were involved in the stabbing of 34-year-old Marcella Salazar and her 15 year old daughter. Witnesses told police the teenager was jumped in the parking lot and stabbed. When the mother stepped in to help -- they stabbed her too!
Police say the mother and daughter suffered non life threatening injuries are were transported to University Hospital. We're told the teen suffered a punctured lung. Her mother was stabbed in the back several times.
Records show police have been called out almost 100 times since January to the New Riviera Apartments for disturbances including drugs, shootings and assaults.
Residents we spoke with say they won't even let their children play outside.
“I've seen somebody be pistol whipped -- and somebody was out with a BB gun, saying they were going to shoot everybody,” explained resident Amanda Tyser. “We have children out here and we can't let them go out and play anymore ‘cause of the constant threat. God forbid we go out at night.”
The suspects are on the run, but police say they do know who they are looking for.
