I believe in freedom of the press, but schools are having enough problems with the tabloid style reporting that occurs now. I agree with most of the posters that the students lacking academic achievement should have been more in the spotlight, but in all of these articles the district is bound by law for discretion with respect to student privacy while the parent rants like they’re on Springer. The fact that the “all procedures were followed” means the kid got 2 swats. I’m not sure what one "end to the next means", but it doesn’t seem to fit 2 swats. Was the data verified? Why is the media involved in this in the first place?

Get over it little Mama. The boy needs to start studying, Man up, and quit squealing like a stuck pig. Be happy you are not in Singapore where they will cane you for spitting on the street. Let's move on to important matters. A little spanking never hurt anybody when deserved. School needs to get some of those aerodynamic paddles that have holes in them for speed.

Where do authorities draw the line? She says she took her son to the doctor who seems to confirm it was abusive. Is CPS going to come after her because of what the school did that she feels and the doctor feels went too far? And I would never agree to letting someone else discipline my kids.

Sounds like mamma is screaming to everyone who'll listen in the hopes that the ambulance chasing attorney she hires will get her some big bucks. She has a right to be concerned about her son's well being; however, she doesn't seem too concerned that he's failing his classes.

OK, then just expel him and then let Mom deal with him all day. No doubt that would have her singing a different tune in short order.

If I were in this situation, Id be more concerned with my child having failing grades one month into the school year. On another news site, the teenager is in football and went to practice before going home, so his paddling must've not been that sever to impair his athleticism. Which brings me to another point, if he has failing grades why is that kid still in sports?! If the school hasn't dropped him from the team, surely his parents would issue the ultimatum, school first, football second!

If that was my kid and he came home from a paddling for getting 3 zeros, I would say "Well, I bet you don't get 3 zeros again!"

Lady you should be more upset he recieved 3 zeros.

Her only mistake was allowing people to hit her child.
