POTEET, Texas -- A man's body was found along a rural road in Atascosa County early Thursday.
The body was discovered by a passerby along East Gates Valley Road, north of Poteet, around 12:50 a.m. Thursday. Atascosa Chief Deputy David Soward said the Hispanic man in his 30's had been shot and had no ID on him. Soward added that the killing has the markings of a "gang hit."
"He had multiple tattoos on his body," said Soward. "Body was sent this morning to medical examiners office for an autopsy."
