Man shot and arrested for alleged death threats

SAN ANTONIO - A man was shot and then arrested after he allegedly threatened to kill a woman.

Officers were called to a home off Cortez Street around 9:00 p.m. Thursday. Investigators say 18-year old John Samarripas got into a fight with a woman. Samarripas allegedly held a knife to a woman's throat and threatened to kill her. The woman's boyfriend pulled out a gun and shot Samarripas in the hip.

Samarripas was arrested and faces a charge of aggravated assault.

Detectives say the boyfriend will not face any charges for defending his girlfriend.

Jimkata, I was thinking the exact same thing. If the guy in the picture is 18, then I'm 25!!! :) I think they have the wrong picture posted...which isn't a stretch for WOAI.

That's what happens when you bring a knife to a gunfight. Good job, boyfriend. Any lowlife willing to threaten the life of another doesn't deserve to keep breathing. Save taxpayers the money & trouble. Next time, aim higher, and shoot to kill.
