SCHERTZ, Texas -- A man was killed when the truck he was driving slammed into a telephone pole early Tuesday.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. at FM 1518 near Woman Hollering Creek. The truck was northbound on FM 1518 when it spun out of control. A spokesperson for the City of Schertz said the truck skidded for about 50 yards before it crashed into the pole.

The driver died at the scene. A man who was a passenger in the truck was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Both men are City of Schertz employees and were on their way to work at the time of the accident.

Police are still investigating the accident but believe the wet roads were a factor in the crash.

I would like everyone who has an account on behalf of the family of the departed , to report user stingrayl88 so he can be booted from this website. We don't need any morons passing judgement , since we are all judge by only one , God Almighty.

This comment is for stingrayl88 , who seems to think this tragic accident is funny. What kind of idiot would borrow a catch phrase from Seinfeld and use it for his own to pass judgement on the departed(RIP). I hope nothing happens to your loved ones , my condolences to the family .

Gran Torino, even when your post is possibily truly considerate of the driving conditions of 1518, you still manage to alienate. Should have left it with 2 sentences not 3. Choose the one to take out and I'm sure my first sentence will still stand.

Those of you assuming the driver was speeding are ignorant and buy in too much to preliminary information. I can only hope that one of your loved ones are not involved in such a tragic accident and you have to contend with heartless individuals posting such garbage. To Albert's family, know he was loved by many and was a true example of what a husband, father and friend should be. To the passenger, know that you are loved and our hearts and prayer are with both of your families.

Yes it is raining so be careful out there but the investigation is still going on... so do not assume the the driver was speeding until all information has been gathered!!!

1518 is dangerous and nothing but old houses and trailers out there. They even have some sort of Muslim Mosque near I-10 out there. Not a very good road to drive on.
