SAN ANTONIO -- Police say a domestic dispute turned deadly on the North East side Thursday night. It happened at the Rutledge Apartments near the intersection of Perrin Beitel and Naco-Perrin.
Police told News 4 WOAI, 29-year-old Shannon Lee Bruton stabbed his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend several times. That man was still alive when the ambulance took him away, but he died just hours later at Brooke Army Medical Center.
Neighbors say Bruton and his ex-girlfriend were still living together at the apartment complex, but they say the two were always fighting. Thursday night, neighbors say the woman was ending things with Bruton for good. That's when they say he became violent, even shoving the woman's head through a wall. She called her new boyfriend for help, but once he got there, police say he was stabbed and killed.
Friends who talked with the woman said she was at home resting Friday morning. They say she was beaten up badly the night before.
Bruton is facing murder and aggravated assault charges. He's in jail on a $200,000 bond.
