SAN ANTONIO -- Deputies are searching for suspects after a man was shot in a Far Northwest Side neighborhood.

Emergency crews were called to the Alamo Ranch subdivision shortly before 6:00 a.m. Wednesday. According to investigators, a man who lives in a home on the 6,000 block of Palmetto Way was involved in some sort of confrontation and was shot in the leg. They said the man tried to run to a neighbor's home for help but ended up collapsing in the street.

The man was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Deputies are now searching for two suspects who were seen leaving the scene in a champagne-colored, older model GMC Yukon.

the area around 1604 and Culebra has deteriorated! No matter how many stores and restaurants they build, there is nothing to stop the ghetto element from ruining it.

@tired, can you be more specific as to what "problems come from them"? I'm just asking because I haven't heard about Californians causing problems in AR subdivisions.

@tirefofitall You hit the nail on the head with that one. I have a three generation family living in a house on my street. They even painted the garage walls and hung pictures so the make shift bedroom didn't look like a garage. I have lived in Alamo Ranch for over 5 years and am dissapointed in what the area has turned into. You are right about the trash from california that has moved here. The majority of them are good but a good chunk are horrible.

I still feel reasonable safe living in AR, but knowing that no place is %100 safe, I keep my eyes open & my camera rolling for anything or anyone that makes me feel unconfortable; I even make sure they are aware that I'm keeping an eye on them.

I really feel sorry for people moving here, especially military folks, who think Alamo Ranch is safe. It will soon end up like all the other subdivisions, Stone Oak included. That's because in this town anyone able to sign their name gets a mortgage or you have multi-generational families pooling their income to make the rent amount. All they do is ruin what should be nice neighborhoods.

I live across the street from this subdivision. I worked hard all my early working life to save money to buy a big, nice, and what I think is an expensive house from where I come from (<$200,000.00). Then what happens!?! Ghetto people from California sell their house for 3 times that, move here, and make these nice neighborhoods garbage. I'm not saying they are all bad but I've noticed the majority of the problems do come from them. This is equivalent to winning the lotto. I'm sorry this happened but our subdivision is plagued by the same trash! The only difference is I'm from Texas and I exercise the 2nd amendment! I guess I'll be saving my pennies and try to move on up!!

(claps hands) Oh yay! The ghetto has begun to take over the "once" nice subdivisions that hardworking American citizens moved to in an effort to ESCAPE the no good worthless wasters of space of society! NICE.

"Evil florishes when good men fail to act." As a resident of this community, we need, now more than ever, to pull together and work to make it even better. Panic selling is never the answer to solving neighborhood issues. Only by working together and with the police can we make this the kind of place we thought we were moving into.
